No soundproofing
The landlord lives upstairs, and since there is no soundproofing whatsoever, all the noise carries down to the lower floor—often as early as 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m. When I complained, the landlord was unsympathetic; he claimed I was trying to restrict when he could use the rooms in his own home and even sent me examples of court cases regarding tenant evictions.
